Psychotherapeutic care

For most couples, the road to having children alternates between feelings of hope and despair, trust and skepticism, happiness and sadness. We will accompany you along the way and support you as much as possible.

In the group meetings with our therapists, you will learn how to achieve better mental and physical relaxation using techniques based on hypnotherapy and also how to increase self-awareness. You have the option of receiving the relaxation trance afterwards:

  • via Zoom: Simply record the Zoom meeting on your PC.
  • Personal appointments: You can receive the respective trance in the mail. Condition: An envelope addressed to you and with sufficient postage as well as a USB stick or an empty audio CD.

Duration: approx. 90 minutes

Our support groups offer you the chance to share your dreams, worries, fears, joy and doubt with other couples undergoing fertility treatments. The evenings are defined purely by the participants. In this way one can have an informal exchange of views on various themes at will.

If you are interested and want to be included on the invitation list, please contact Ms. Leitl directly by email:

Within the framework of a fertility treatment, we offer you a one-time individual session in which your personal worries and concerns will be addressed.
The appointments can take place via Zoom or in person. Appointments in the private practice of Ms. Leitl: Kahlenbergerstr. 7-9 / 2/9, 1190 Vienna

Duration: 50-60 minutes

Unfortunately it can happen that, despite all efforts, a fertility treatment is not successful at the first attempt. In such a case you can turn to our therapists for help. Appointments in the private practice of Ms. Leitl: Kahlenbergerstr. 7-9 / 2/9, 1190 Vienna

  • Psychogenic causes for an unfulfilled desire to have children
  • Mental outcome of an unfulfilled desire to have children
  • Additional stress caused by fertility treatments (mental, physical, time management especially at work)
  • Lack of sympathy from the environment
  • Need for egg or sperm donation

Even though psychogenic causes for an unfulfilled desire to have children are extremely rare, it is, however, worth giving some thought to the following areas:

  • Fear of birth or pregnancy
  • Overly-high expectations of oneself as a parent
  • Fear of dependence
  • Pregnancy abortion in the past
  • Fear of changes (above all permanent bodily changes)
  • Influences from childhood and youth (upbringing)
  • Abuse experience
  • External pressure, extreme stress load, among others
  • Somatic causes of an unfulfilled desire to have children (for example increased prolactin values or PCO Syndrome)
  • Counterproductive lifestyle
  • Depression (from a depressive mood to a post-traumatic stress reaction)
  • Increased anxiety
  • Self-esteem problems
  • Guilt assignment (to oneself and to others)
  • Loss of trust (also in one’s own body)
  • Shame, anger, envy, jealousy, feelings of helplessness, despair, sadness
  • Tensions within a couple’s relationship
  • Loss of libido
  • Somatisation (sleep, eating habits)
  • Social withdrawal etc.

With a positive pregnancy test comes a change in important areas. Mixed in with the initial happiness come fear and apprehension, above all when there has already been an early loss of a child in one’s own past. We will accompany you at this time in small groups. As this is an extra service, after a successful infertility treatment a small contribution of € 40.- per appointment and meeting (75 minutes) has to be paid.

Minimum number of participants: 3 people
Alternatively: individual appointment in Ms. Leitl's private practice (details at:
