Specialist areas and research interests:

  • Reproductive medicine
  • Dialogue substances (proteins and steroid hormones) through which the ovary, fallopian tubes and uterus communicate with the egg cell or embryo.
  • In-vitro maturation (= maturation of the egg cells outside the body, which would allow treatment with artificial insemination without the patient having to be stimulated with hormones)
  • Desire for children in old age, evolution and function of sexuality, obstetrics, multiple pregnancy
  • After graduation and military service, studied medicine at the University of Vienna.

  • Research assistant and teaching trainee at the Institute for Sterility Care (Univ.Prof.Dr.W.Feichtinger).

  • 1999 Habilitation and award of teaching authorisation as university lecturer in obstetrics and gynaecology ("The influence of various factors on fertility treatment with in vitro fertilisation - embryo transfer (IVF-ET)").

  • June 2000 Foundation of the Kinderwunschzentrum Goldenes Kreuz together with Univ.Prof.Dr. Andreas Obruca
  • 2003 Foundation of the "Austrian IVF Society" together with Prof.Dr.Andreas Obruca as a non-profit organisation representing the interests of Austrian IVF centres
  • Development of the computer software "Quinni" "QuinniWeb" and "QuinniMatch" for documentation and quality control of fertility treatments. This has now been introduced in several national and international IVF centres.
  • April 2017 Appointment as university professor and chair of "Reproductive Medicine" at the Medical Faculty of Sigmund Freud Private University in Vienna.
  • 2020 Foundation of the Kinderwunschzentrum an der Wien together with Univ.Prof.Dr. Andreas Obruca.
  • 2022 Foundation and medical director of the "Androzentrum" at the Kinderwunschzentrum an der Wien
