FMedG amendment: for lesbian couples top, for egg donation flop
The amendment of the law on reproductive medicine (FmedG) in February 2015 has now opened the possibility of fertility medicine for lesbian couples. Egg donation is now also allowed, however, only with great restrictions. The summary by our medical directors half a year after the amendment shows that it has only meant an actual improvement for lesbian couples. The treatment of egg donation, however, has been so restricted that it almost appears to be a “dead law”.
