New scientific findings have demonstrated that changes in the DNA structure of the sperm cells can reduce their fertilization capacity. In very severe cases pregnancy may not be possible. The common sperm analysis does consider genetic abnormalities and may appear normal. In collaboration with the St. Anna Hospital (Children’s Cancer Research Institute) we are the first in Austria to offer the examination of changes in the DNA structure (DNA Strand breaks).
This test is known as SCSA (Sperm chromatin structur assay) and gives us information on the chromatine structure and indirectly on the sperm cell quality.
